Our Stage 2 Power Package takes your Evolution VIII to the next level.  The Gruppe-S Power Package #2 is designed to maximize the effectiveness of your stock EVO turbo*.  Our package includes all the necessary components which we have tested and tuned to achieve the most power and torque possible on pump gas with your factory turbo. 

The late model 4G63 engine finds substantial gains by employing modifications to the valve-train.  In this case, the low duration / low lift factory cams are replaced by high lift / high duration (272 / 10.8mm) camshafts that maximize top end power without sacrificing low end and midrange torque.  While it is true that most high duration camshafts will sacrifice some mid-range power, this problem is offset with addition of light-weight cam gears that allow the user to increase valve overlap - thus maximizing maintaining optimal mid-range power on large duration camshafts.** 

A known problem with the 4G63 engine is its tendency to "lift" the head under high boost / high power conditions.  This tendency to lift is reduced with the installation of the ARP head studs - a logical modification when the camshafts are being replaced.

For fueling  we offer a high-flow fuel pump solution.  Based on our testing the factory fuel pump has difficulty sustaining the 100HP increase.  We offer the 255 L/H Walbro fuel pump with our package, which can support the higher horsepower levels.

Finally to tie all the modifications together, our Gruppe-S Reflash is required to maximize performance.

The end result is a true pump gas monster - a 100HP increase over the factory car with no loss in midrange and low end torque.  Unlike the competition which claims high horsepower gains while concealing substantial losses in the low-end and mid-range power levels, our package provides the best possible increase throughout the power band.  This package exemplifies our commitment to provide the best "power for the dollar" solution to the EVO.

*The 10.5cm^2 Turbine Housing is required for all 2003-2004 EVO's that come only with the 9.8cm^2 turbine housing.

Got Race Gas or Meth Injection?  Here's what the stock turbo with our Stage 2 modifications will do with 100 octane or methanol injection.  Can you say torque monster???  We have methanol and 100 octane maps available for purchase.

Buddy Club 272 / 272 Camshafts - The Buddy Club 272 / 272 camshaft is a high quality / precision ground billet camshaft designed to work with the factory valvetrain.  It is a drop-in camshaft requiring no additional modifications.

Helix 5-bolt Cam Gears - The Helix 5-bolt Cam Gears feature a strong 5-bolt construction that is designed to eliminate slippage.  The outter gear is a precision laser-cut, with the inner gear CNC machined T6061 aluminum.  The cam gears allows independent intake / exhaust timing adjustments from +/- 12 degrees.  Thus allows the increase or reduction of valve overlap maximizing midrange and low end performance gains.  Recommended Settings for Stage 2: -1 Intake, -1 Exhaust.

ARP Head Studs - The ARP head-studs are manufactured from 8740 chrome moly steel, heat-treated in-house to 190,000 psi tensile strength, and precision J-form threads rolled after heat-treat to create a fastener that has threads 1000% stronger than others.  Bottom line?  An elimination of the risk of 4G63 head lift under high boost and high power conditions.

Gruppe-S Reflash - With our years of experience tuning high-performance race vehicles such as the WRX US-Touring Car, Grand-Am car, as well as numerous Rally and drag cars, we have perfected the art of tuning a high performance vehicle and extracting the maximum power without compromising safety.

Our Power-Package #2 reflash, is developed exclusively to be used in conjunction with our Power-Package #2 components and is required for our Power Package #2 components to work properly.  This map is developed through extensive road and dyno-testing and works by adjusting boost maps, ignition maps, fuel trims, and various other parameters to maximize the effects of more aggressive cams and the high-flow fuel pump.  Built in are ECU safety features such as knock control and fuel trim, creating a safe and reliable tune.  Gains of over 30whp are achieved.  Our map is designed for California 91 octane.*

We offer a map loading service if you do not have technical knowledge to load your own ECU maps.

*California 91 octane is generally regarding as the worst 91 octane in the country.  Therefore our 91 octane map is compatible throughout the country as long as 91+ octane gas is used.  You may see additional horsepower gains if your car is fine-tuned for higher octane gas.  We also offer a 100 octane and alcohol injection map for the Stage 2 car at additional cost.



1. Gruppe-S Loading Service - You send us your ECU, we will load in the Gruppe-S Stage 1 Reflash for you and return your ECU to you via overnight shipping. 

2. Software Only - If you purchase the software only, you only need to provide us with your ECU number and VIN number.  We will send you an electronic copy of our the Gruppe-S Stage 1 Reflash specifically encoded for your ECU.  You will need a general understanding of reflashing techniques and you MUST possess the hardware to be able to reflash your vehicle.  If you do not know how to reflash your own vehicle, please choose option #1.
